  11. In the late eighties, as an off spring from the Amsterdam School of 
  12. Architecture, RenderStar Technology introduced AXIS, a 3D modeller, to the 
  13. Dutch market with relatively good results. The inclusion of 3D visualisation 
  14. resulted in the development of rendering technology, which first came to the 
  15. (international) market by 1990 as RenderStar. Subsequently AXIS was 
  16. discontinued and special rendering applications for major CAD packages were 
  17. developed. RenderStar's latest release is eXtension-24, which was introduced 
  18. during the A/E/C Systems Show '92, followed just recently by ARE-24, a 
  19. co-development with KETIV Technologies, Inc from Portland OR.. The company's 
  20. main areas of activity are the development and marketing of end user products 
  21. for rendering (RenderStar 2, eXtension-24, ARE-24), making the core 
  22. technology available for OEM applications (ARE 1, Arkey, Pointline, BauCAD) 
  23. and doing visualisation services in the Benelux.

  25. The Technical Staff of RTBV has been working in the computer graphics field 
  26. for almost as long as the existence of that technology. A wide range of 
  27. technical and artistic awards has been taken back to Amsterdam by the 
  28. RenderStar developers, ranging from Caddie awards to just recently an 
  29. honourable mentioning in the Prix Ars Electronique, organised by the 
  30. Austrian Public Television. The winner in the Fine Arts category of 
  31. Autodesk's First International Image and Animation Award is RTBV's head of 
  32. development with an image made using AutoCAD and RenderStar 2 eXtension-24.

  34. Both RenderStar and ARE-24 are available in over 30 countries in seven 
  35. languages.

  37. ARE-24 is available for AutoCAD R12 for DOS, Windows, SGI Indigo/Indy, Sun 
  38. Sparc station and HP 700 workstations at US$ 795.

  40. RenderStar-2 eXtension-24 retails for approx. $1,500 and is available for DOS 
  41. only, using DXF input.
