In the late eighties, as an off spring from the Amsterdam School of
Architecture, RenderStar Technology introduced AXIS, a 3D modeller, to the
Dutch market with relatively good results. The inclusion of 3D visualisation
resulted in the development of rendering technology, which first came to the
(international) market by 1990 as RenderStar. Subsequently AXIS was
discontinued and special rendering applications for major CAD packages were
developed. RenderStar's latest release is eXtension-24, which was introduced
during the A/E/C Systems Show '92, followed just recently by ARE-24, a
co-development with KETIV Technologies, Inc from Portland OR.. The company's
main areas of activity are the development and marketing of end user products
for rendering (RenderStar 2, eXtension-24, ARE-24), making the core
technology available for OEM applications (ARE 1, Arkey, Pointline, BauCAD)
and doing visualisation services in the Benelux.
The Technical Staff of RTBV has been working in the computer graphics field
for almost as long as the existence of that technology. A wide range of
technical and artistic awards has been taken back to Amsterdam by the
RenderStar developers, ranging from Caddie awards to just recently an
honourable mentioning in the Prix Ars Electronique, organised by the
Austrian Public Television. The winner in the Fine Arts category of
Autodesk's First International Image and Animation Award is RTBV's head of
development with an image made using AutoCAD and RenderStar 2 eXtension-24.
Both RenderStar and ARE-24 are available in over 30 countries in seven
languages.
ARE-24 is available for AutoCAD R12 for DOS, Windows, SGI Indigo/Indy, Sun
Sparc station and HP 700 workstations at US$ 795.
RenderStar-2 eXtension-24 retails for approx. $1,500 and is available for DOS
only, using DXF input.
An extensive dealer list and more information as well as demo versions are
available from RenderStar Technology B.V:
